Springfield, Illinois is a fantastic destination for a quick Midwestern getaway. As the hometown of Abraham Lincoln, the city offers visitors a journey back in time. We explored the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum, and toured the Lincoln Home National Historic Site—the only home Lincoln ever owned. We did a little shopping, and lots of walking. We stayed at the beautiful President Abraham Lincoln Doubletree by Hilton. It was a great little getaway!
